When a Congressman becomes a lobbyist he gets a 1,452% raise

That is a significant raise.  The revolving door is lined with pure gold it seems.

    That's a lot to ask someone to walk away from just for the sake of ethics.

    Yes indeed. And just consider how much lobbying pays off for firms...$220 on the dollar, i.e., 22,000%: http://papers.ssrn.com/abstract_id=1375082. Everybody's happy!
